Hamburg
State Opera This
opera house, rich in tradition, is one of the leading opera stages of the world.
It’s ballet under the direction of the US-American John Neumeier is considered
undoubtedly as one of the world’s finest.
With
the construction of this music hall (1904-1908) the architects Martin
Haller and W.E. Meerwein have achieved a lavish example of neo-baroque
architecture. Since then Hamburg has at it’s disposal a representative place to promote musical presentation of all genres.
Operettenhaus
at the Reeperbahn Founded
in 1840 as a “Circus Gymnasticus” with room for 3000 spectators.1864 it was
renamed“Centralhalle” and in
1920“Operettenhaus”. Today it
is known far beyond the borders of Hamburg for it’s light opera and other good
popular musical representations.
Theatre

Harbour Opposite
the quayside (“Landungsbrücken”) used to be a tent in which the musical
„Buddy Holly“was staged, but
today there is a proper theatre. At the time being the musical “Der König der
Löwen” ( (Disney’s “Lion King”) is on stage.
Neue Flora
The Theatre “Neue Flora” was actually built for the musical "The Phantom of the Opera" in 1989/90, but meanwhile it belongs to one of the most popular houses in the music scene in Germany. After „Mozart – The Musical“ and „Titanic“ have been played very successfully
was the musical "Dance Of The Vampires " on a stage until 22-Jan-2006.

WDG-Bigband
The Big
Band of the Waldörfer Gymnasiums was founded as a school band in the early eighties by Christoph Schoenherr. He
conducted his band for many years,
until Olaf Klindtwort took over in autumn 2000.
The WDG-Big Band has played many beautiful concerts and won a first price as the
Best
Junior
Big Band in Jazz.
