Music hall

With the construction of this music hall  (1904-1908) the architects Martin Haller and W.E. Meerwein have achieved a lavish example of neo-baroque architecture. Since then Hamburg has at it’s disposal a representative place to promote musical presentation of all genres.

Operettenhaus at the Reeperbahn
Founded in 1840 as a “Circus Gymnasticus” with room for 3000 spectators.1864 it was renamed  “Centralhalle” and in 1920  “Operettenhaus”. Today it is known far beyond the borders of Hamburg for it’s light opera and other good popular musical representations.

Theatre in the Hamburg Harbour
Opposite the quayside (“Landungsbrücken”) used to be a tent in which the musical „Buddy Holly“  was staged, but today there is a proper theatre. At the time being the musical “Der König der Löwen” ( (Disney’s “Lion King”) is on stage.

Neue Flora
The Theatre “Neue Flora” was actually built for the musical "The Phantom of the Opera" in 1989/90, but meanwhile it belongs to one of the most popular houses in the music scene in Germany. After „Mozart – The Musical“ and „Titanic“ have been played very successfully was the musical "Dance Of The Vampires " on a stage until 22-Jan-2006.

Dirty Dancing premiere in Hamburg - from 26 March 2006, “Dirty Dancing” takes place at the Neue Flora. More information and tickets
